All About Breast Thermography.org
This website was conceived in 1999 by Dr William Cockburn, a pioneer and long
time educator in Medical Thermal Imaging. The purpose of the site was
originally designed to provide simple and effective information concerning the
scope of practice related to medical thermal imaging. The site was
specifically designed to be a not for profit website with no spam, no contact
to any visit from us or any of our partners and absolutely no sales of any kind.
The site is for your education and is extensive and updated regularly.

How Does Mom Fit In?
Following the death of his mother, Isabelle to breast cancer, Dr Cockburn began
to research how this disease affects women and their families. He
learned that breast thermography or medical infrared imaging had not been well
utilized in the United States but there was a significant body of literature
and double blinded studies confirming its use. In addition, the US FDA
had approved thermal imaging 6 years prior to his mothers’ death as an
adjunctive screening procedure. (Visit our library section for many

Dr Cockburn re-dedicated his career to providing thermal imaging services and
this website, which has evolved ever since.
Isabelle died of complications from breast cancer after it had been missed for
over a decade by conventional mammography. Had she had thermal imaging as
an additional procedure, she might have lived out her life without the pain and
suffering that was to take her.
It is for this reason and this reason only, that this organization has been
formed and dedicated to Isabelle Tracy Cockburn.
Providing Accurate and Up to Date Information to Physicians and the General
Public
This site has an extensive library of articles and image files for you to see
and read. It is updated regularly and provides a resource for anyone from
the private, professional and government sectors. Everything on this
website is free for you to use. We do appreciate your honoring
International and United States Copyright Laws and ask permission before
reproduction of anything on this site.
Referral Sources for Qualified Physicians and Thermography Labs
In the Find a Lab section you will find a list of all known Board Certified
Technicians and Physicians in the Thermal Imaging Field. We do not
list un-certified individuals or labs. Our qualification process is
very easy. We ask doctors, technicians and laboratories to submit
to us HIPPA Compliant copies of their work product, meaning - image files and
written reports. We also ask for the make, model and year of
purchase for their thermal imaging camera and software as well as a certification
document for its most recent calibration.
For this reason, you will find that the list of qualified labs is limited at this
time, as many offices do not need referrals, do not want referrals or do simply
not qualify by our standard of care.
We do not discriminate in our decision making process and being listed on our
site has always been, and will remain, free of charge. Our commitment to
Quality Evidence Based Thermal Imaging will not be compromised.
